Cederquist Family Vineyard
Fresno County
Grenache
Cederquist Vineyard’s Grenache was originally planted in the 1890’s, and has been under the guidance of the Cederquist family since Grandpa Cederquist’s acquisition of the Fresno area property in the 1940’s from his neighbors. This block is a portion of the larger Cederquist vineyard that focuses on sun-dried raisin farming. It is now operated by the second and third generation Cederquists, with the fourth generation assisting at harvest. Brock’s mom, Laura Cederquist, grew up in the old adobe homestead house on the property.
The original Grenache planting of just under 2 acres were spaced 8′ x 10′, the standard of that era in the Fresno area. In the 1940’s the vineyard was expanded to its current size of 12 acres with additional plantings of Grenache on 8′ x 12′ spacing. Our wines are produced from the original 1890’s plantings. The centurion vines provide fruit for both our Rosé of Grenache and our Sparklin Wine. The Sparkling Wine is done in a Blanc style. The vineyard is registered in the Historical Vineyard Society.
